ADWCleaner specifically finds stuff like the delta invasion! It is a toolbar (?) but when installed changes your search engine to delta. It is pretty nasty in that it will take you to sites that you might not like.
The Delta toolbar is bundled with a lot of 'free' downloads and even unclicking the option to install will wend its way to your PC, changing your homepage and search etc.
Recently, many 'freebies' are bundled with 'babylon', 'Ask' etc. What really micturates me is that even when the opt out is checked, these buggers are still prevalent on your system.
ADWCleaner was, I think suggested by Neil (GS) some while ago and I have used ever since.
Nosy minds (!) try to keep the interweb a little safer, so thanks for posting this.
However, it is unfortunate that even our well known trusted sites are now starting to bundle this crapola.
Even after unchecking the crapola I still look in revo which normally finds them and do an advanced uninstall.
'Q' has anyone been infected with DELTA? and anyone used ADWCleaner?
Yep, many a time and it can be a bugger to get rid of but ADWCleaner seems to work.
In answer to whether SAS, Mbam etc, I think they do quite well but don't seem to pick em up all the time. Surprisingly, Mbam on a full scan does a better job but can take some time. I run a full Mbam weekly.
