I just gave my mate a usb drive, he uses Vista, he is not comp savvy and I don't use Vista.
Can anyone give me a pic of the safely remove hardware process in Vista?

Hi greebal. The best way, is to shut off the computer, wait a few seconds, then remove it. Otherwise, it's right click on the drive, select Safely Remove, and wait for the pop-up in the System Tray.

I use Vista. And personally, I don't bother with the Safely Remove option. Just leave the usb drive in until it has fininished transferring, and it is fine to remove. UNLESS, he doesn't have Vista SP1 or 2, and is transferring between an XP computer that is. Then he would need Safely Remove.
