I think BROWSERS should not be UNDER Windows Mike? Other OS's have versions. Should be moved to General, and I guess have sub-headings of Windows, Other OS's, and Tablets?
Do we need a 'tablet' category?

What does the (bolded part of the) statement mean? Members just want to help you with any computer related problems you encounter without the need of rip off outletsI'm also wondering if the Centred format is best for this - here is how it would look with normal left justification (with some suggested changes)
On this site you will find much useful information to take the stress out of solving PC problems. Here you will find people who use their computers as tools for personal use, as a business tool, as a social medium and more. Our team of members want you to enjoy yours too ..... without issues that can make the machine more complicated than it needs to be or stops you from doing what you want or need to do[/strong][/font]. Members here have many years of experience in different areas of computer technology and can offer the help and advice you need. Members donate their time and help at no cost to you, hidden or otherwise. Members just want to help you with any computer related problems you encounter without the need of rip off outlets. We bring our skills together to help you, the PC user, to help solve your daily computer problems. We also bring you weekly updates about technology, emerging security threats, new free and tested software. We offer advice on - security solutions
- everyday free software to help you enjoy your Photographic, Video and Music hobbies.
- your job related issues with Business Software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Blue Screen of Death (BSOD), "BOOTMGR not Found"

- Networking/wifi/router/modem issues
- Gaming
in other words - any problem you may encounter
tgigeeks is also fun, you don't have to be stuck behind your screen all day (you'd still be behind your screen - unless this is a joke I'm not getting) come and pay us a visit in our Off Topic section.

Moree, thank you, Joe said I should follow your recommendations! ( we do talk out of school ) As I have bad eyesight, the initial layout was to aid my view, but I will now make the corrections. Sometimes my humour goes beyond the boundaries! Again, thanks for the advice

The 'Forum' text at the top of the Home page may have to be lightened as it's dark blue on black may be a little difficult to see at first glance.

Hi Mike
I really do appreciate it when advice is heard and more so when accepted. So thanks.
2 additional points;
near the bottom after the list of areas we help with you have the statement
"Get help from our Office gurus and get Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook working as it should"
Since this is covered in the list I don't thing that statement is necessary (I suspect that this edit was just missed when you revamped the page)
Also, for some reason the page is not behaving normally for me - I have to scroll to the right to read the full text. Granted I am on the metro edition of IE10 AND I am at 175% scaling (not so much because I have bad eyesight but because it is more convenient for a touch screen) and yet all other pages on any site fits comfortably on my screen. As I said though, it could be just me. And thanks also for including me on the site originators list - I'm proud to be in that list next to you guys (in the gender neutral meaning of that term)

I had that same problem with the scrolling. I'm at 125. seemed to have cleared up here though. Would like another color for the home screen. No one is sitting next to Mike to say try this or did you see that so, is difficult for one man. He's the one who got us going. Thanks for helping.
Joe

This is the way it goes with "virtual" collaboration. You get a whole lot of feedback, often delayed and even more often contradictory and it is the poor soul who initiated the content who has to deal with it. On the whole a thankless job (or worse, one that will elicit abuse). So let me add my heartfelt "thank you".

Again thanks for the input. I have corrected some text after re-reading, hope it is better than before! Also, not running IE 10 so cannot really comment on that one. However I realise the colour content is important for clarification without eyestrain. The changes made are viewed here in win 7, FF 20, PaleMoon64bit, Comodo IceDragon and IE 9 (and the bilberry Z10 browser). Always ready to hear comments and make changes as and when.
EDIT:

Without the "virtual" collaboration, there would be no valid feedback and that is what counts! You have all made some very good points I did not spot initially; as I said to Joe earlier, the outside looking in!
Also, most changes can be made fairly quickly, so no probs.
For a group just 12 days old, we ain't doing bad.
Mike

Well, on my iPad the main page is TOO LARGE horizontally. Have to move the page back and forth to read it. Set the line length lower?

Ok Irv, tried on my BB and page now fits perfectly, also activated mobile mode.

I'll check the iPad later Mike.
As for the TEXT on the page, I'm probably nit-picking, and there are always different ways to say things, but I've got some 'thoughts' on the wording. Here goes, feel free to REJECT any suggestion.
========== We are a group of like minded people dedicated to computer technology and our main aim in mind is to unshackle the world of computer breakdowns, mishaps and perhaps. misconceptions. ==========
Fitting with the title, I would make it:
========= We are a group of geeks dedicated to computer technology and our goal is to unshackle the world of computer breakdowns, mishaps and perhaps. misconceptions. =========
========= On this site you will find much useful information to take the stress out of solving PC problems. Here you will find people who use their computers as tools for personal use, as a business tool, as a social medium, and more. =========
Simplified to:
========== On this site you will find much useful information to take the stress out of solving PC problems. Here you will find people who use their computers as tools for personal use, as a business tool, as a social medium, and more. can help you solve those problems as well. ==========
I add the next part to the paragraph above with one change:
============ Our team want you to enjoy yours too, but without the issues that can make the machine more complicated than it needs to be or stops you from doing what you want, or need to do. ============
============ Our team wants you to enjoy yours too, but without the issues that can make the machine more complicated than it needs to be or stops you from doing what you want, or need to do. ============
Minor correction:
============== Our members here have many years of experience in different areas of computer technology and can offer the help and the advice you need; the team donate their time and help at no cost to you, hidden or otherwise. ==============
=============== Our members here have many years of experience in different areas of computer hardware and software and can offer the help and the advice you need; the team donates their time and help at no cost to you, hidden or otherwise. ===============
Following is redundant, already one of the bullets above:
========= Get help from our Office gurus and get Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook working as it should. =========
I'd change this one, and NOT use the word PAY either:
====== tgigeeks is also fun, you don't have to be stuck behind your screen all day, come and pay us a visit in our Off Topic section. ======
====== Tgigeeks is also fun, you don't have to be stuck behind your screen all day, come and unwind in our Off Topic section. ======
Feel free to ignore the suggestions.

Thanka Irv, I will make the changes you suggested! Nicely put. And you are right about the phrase pay a visit.
