Tried various sites and mirrors to install Imgburn today. Everyone contained Open Candy (caught by AVG) without anyway to opt out. Recommendations for alternative free program is appreciated.
I could probably find a saved older clean Imgburn exe. from one of my other computers and copy and use it, but not sure if it would work on W8.1. So, an alternative free program might be better.
Thanks for any opinions or suggestions.

Thanks Irv. I'll have a look at those sites. It just tees me off that a good program would go the route of the crapware installs. Would have been better for them to charge a small program fee than tarnish their name, IMHO.

Oh dear, IMG has just gone berserk, the new download is just pretty well oops! A well trusted app has just been hijacked, so it seems? From Softpedia, a trusted site: I downloaded img burn only to find this today: go forth and multiply!! **** off and you get all this shit as well....

Well, you have to look at almost ANY install these days. Even stuff from CNET has that 'crap' type of install. If you do NOT check that custom button you get a lot of just, and some is malware, some is even difficult to remove. The 'good' junk at least adds to the Program list so you can uninstall it. Heck even Adobe Flash will 'automatically' install a McAfee scanner for you unless you say you don't want it. Today a 'trusted' site just means (to me at least) they are not knowingly letting you d/l malware. I don't think they can vouch for what is in the default install though.

I tried the FileHippo one. Got nothing like Mikes results, only clean install. Full scans of Herd Protect and Avira showed nothing untoward. Revo'd it, then re-installed with Soft Organiser tracing software, again, nothing untoward showed up.

This is what I get, tried it again this morning. As you can see at the bottom of posted image, this occurs prior to download being run or saved. I could allow the install, but that defeats the purpose of having AV. protection.

I never got that far into the install. I did try other download sites including Imgburn site. It has I think 7 mirrors, I tried them all with bad results. Alternative program I think is needed.

Probably not, I've seen others complaining the same but you never actually installed it so it isn't like if you went on you'd get OC installed? Have a Virtual Machine, give it a try.
