Well, to most of us we do know about Charles Babbage (the father of the computer) and his {in}difference engine. Here he is on a happy day: A machine and an operating system never really finished or finalised. Just like Windows really!! We think of Babbage as the bloke who started the computing revolution, which is fine in many ways, but we miss many points in that knowledge. Chas was helped greatly by Ada Lovelace, Augusta Ada King, Countess of Lovelace (née Byron; 10 December 1815 – 27 November 1852). Unusual for the time Ada, a female, was not really recognised as a mathematician but she did see something from Euclid that now becomes the way see Algorithms work in moderns complicators and the net / web. Here she is on a good day: Now, I hope you can see / watch this excellent program here: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p030s5bx/calculating-ada-the-countess-of-computingENJOY
