GOD MODE IN WINDOWS: WHAT IS IT AND WHAT CAN IT ACHIEVE? GOD MODE IN WINDOWS: WHAT IS IT AND WHAT CAN IT ACHIEVE? So called 'godmode' has been a hidden folder in Windows since Windows Vista GOD MODE is in fact a shortcut to create a more fully functional and accessible control panel option. The phrase GOD MODE does not elevate system priveleges, it merely expands the options available in control panel. It was not designed for the 'casual user' and thus was hidden in the Operating Sytem until activated by the user. It was assumed that only experienced users would need to go down this road, IT admin or SuperUsers. This, in effect insults the Microsoft Product User (!!) One who has paid for it in the first place. So how do we invoke GODMODE? I'd not recommend this in Vista, it can cause bluescreen. My experience with the mode caused problems. In Windows 7, 8.1 and 10 it can be invoked in the following ways: Right click on desktop, select new folder and rename it with the following text GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} save it Click on the new icon and you have god mode. Now you have an extended access to CPL EDITThere is some more info on this should you wish to take on the assignment from ASKVGIn the above article there is a zip file to automate the godmode! Vishal Gupta runs the the much respected Indian askvg website and I have a great respect for his articles. Thanks and credit to Vishal
