Ooohhhh Rick I'd love one! $1,300 equates to £915 however I'd be surprised to see it retailing less than £1500 in the UK. We always get 'hit' with higher pricing.
23-28 mins battery life looks good too.
A while back I did buy a cheap one in a sale (about 30 quid). I found it very difficult to master. The camera quality was pretty naff and the batteries lasted 8 mins max. The other problem because it was very light it 'flew' with rapidity and the joystick speed response was 'slow', because my eyesight is poor I lost 'sight' of it. Finding the blooming thing after a crash (often) was like hunting for the proverbial needles in the haystack. I donated it to my brother. He lost it altogether. Before either of us lost the plot!

$1,300 or £915 is just too much money for what amounts to a high tech toy. (LOL)
Also in the USA, the government has put pretty strict limits on the flying of toy drones because just as you found, many are hard to control and can become hazards to aircraft and other folks.
If a drone were manufactured with a full scale robotics / avionics package, the price would be beyond reach for toys.

You would be surprised just how much some people spend on "toys".

And the West throws away enough food to keep many of those alive. But I digress.
