Is it possible that your Firewall, or router, is blocking Google?

Brian, what is the home page showing. I'm wondering if a dodgy search engine has got in! Check Lighthouse's suggestion first. But I'd run a full scan with malwarebytes ( filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ )and see what is found. Or a system restore to before google disappeared, as it were but an mbam scan is preferable in my book. The inability to open google rings alarm bells. Windows 7 should make no difference at all.

Brian did you ever get the transfer sorted by whatever means? I came across DC++. It is installed but I have not tested it yet. 'Direct Connect allows you to share files over the Internet without restrictions or limits. The client is completely free of advertisements and has a nice, easy to use interface. Firewall and router support is integrated and it is easy and convenient to use functionality like multi-hub connections, auto-connections and resuming of downloads.' Have a see here: dcplusplus.sourceforge.net/Look at the tutorial links on that page.
