As it happens, had a few problems with a win 8 machine repair yesterday.
I deleted the following registry:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Publishers\{e7ef96be-969f-414f-97d7-3ddb7b558ccc}
NOTE, this applies to KB3000061
Ensure you either have system restore enabled OR you have imaged your system before messing with it!!
