Hi guys A friend gave me her Samsung S5 as it is stuck in bootloop. If I can fix it, I can have it Problem is I can't get it fixed! I've tried the regular things of taking out the battery and simcard, pressing volume, home and power button at the same time etc. And at best I get some blue letters about recovery booting, but it doesn't go any further than that. Googled for more help (there are loads of links out there!) and should download something called Odin and USB drivers, but ended up with malware in one of my downloads, so I restored an image to be sure I got nothing nasty on my PC. And now I don't know how to go on. Would really like to fix this thing. Preferably with data intact as she has photo's on it, but if not possible, then with a full wipe. As long as it gets back to working! Would really like your help. Cheers, Sarah.

Hi Sarah, are the photos on the SIM, or the micro SD card?

Oh good point - on the micro sd I might save them Frankly I have no idea and I've just brought the thing to a local repairshop as I tried all the reasonable tricks I could find on google. They'll reset the software and all data will be lost. But I'll have a working phone. D'uh. I'll see if there is anything left on the SD card when I get it back.
