It shouldn't. Get a restore point before you looked at the website your think was the problem and restore to it. If your not in a big hurry hold off then and wait for others here to chime in. Tomorrow is Christmas eve so may be slow here. Check back then if your uncomfortable with a restore. In the mean time don't use that computer.

What other considerations do I need to take prior to initiating the restore? one more Q, what is the shoutbox for?

Things you want to tell others on the site without starting a thread. Try it type something in there.

Warlock, just wanted to say Thank you for helping me today. I ran the Restore program and it took a few hours. I appreciated the advice of someone who knew what to do. Kind of unsettling to know someone is trying to breach you. (yeah, and not in the good way...ha ha) but seriously, I really need to get an AV program but am just unsure about what is best to have, what to look for, the differences... you know.

I haven't seen that message but I know since I added password to logon that it shouldn't be on sites that might cause it to appear again. However, I do like to shop online occasionally and I am very leary about doing that without some 'bullet-proof' spyware to protect my PC and my bank account. How can I confirm it is gone? Is that even possible? Thanks for the f/u

No such thing as bullet proof spyware. What have you done so far to fix the problem? What were the results? Then recommendations can be made for you. There is also some good reading on our home page which you may have missed. Take a look here if you haven't already. tgigeeks.net/security.html
