Shouldn't matter at all. Except you will lose some disk space on that, now, 3rd drive. Probably best to wipe it, and use for storage, and I would suggest some images of your SSD drive. (at least 1 per week) (I do it daily)

I will wipe and use for storage and I do image the SSD just wondered what would happen at boot with all connected before wiping.

Agree with LH. If your set to boot from the SSD all should be fine. If you are still apprehensive you can always image the HDD drive prior to wiping.

Hi Greebal.
On my old Tosh, I had a 240gb SSD which I swapped with the single 650gb spinner. That drive was partitioned into 3. When I migrated to the SSD I used a dvd drive caddy to hold the spinner, but I reduced the original C: partition to (I think) to around 100gb. Thus I still had a spinner OS to boot to when I moved the Tosh on, which I have done (on its way to French France). Still had around 500gb on the spinner for data storage. By keeping the C: partition it also kept the Tosh Factory restore facility. Just saved me a load of aggro when I moved it on, just swapped drives and it booted to spinner without issue.
Just a thought for you!

You can of course reduce the partition on that drive (for the system), but you didn't say what size the system partition is.

There are no partitions on that drive.

So what is the OS, and how much free space on the drive ?

OS is W7 and there is is some data until I reconnect I don't know the free space. To be honest my original thoughts were to wipe the drive and use it for storage.
