irvspDo you like W8? Reading all the blowback on forums it seems I'm a minority of 1 that does like it This probably doesn't belong in this spot, but it does apply to your question: Do people use Metro apps? What is going on with the above that I quoted? My Avatar is messed up both in the message and the quote? When I look at it in the quote (it will seem different when it is posted) it is odd? Try quoting one and see? It could be because I EDITED my post, don't know? The BLUE is Moree's Avatar messed up, under it the RED which is mine, and the last RED is a LINK that appears DIFFERENT from the actual post. I edited it because I had a link problem. I used the LINK icon and it had 2 lined that could be entered. I did NOT look at the heading for the line but I put the link on the top and the description on the bottom line. This is had normal HTML is for anchor's. All other forums I use have this convention, link on top, description on the bottom. I think you should do this the same way. Second problem, look at my real message, there is NO blue on the link until you move the mouse over it. Normal convention is usually BLUE and underlined. Just looking at my message above you'd never know it is a link and think that sentence was 'odd' and 1/2 baked. Oh, EDIT has NO CANCEL, probably should (which is really a BACK button). Normally I guess people would just close the browser if they decided not to post/edit? BACK or CANCEL button (on both POST and EDIT) would probably be nice?

Is it possible to put after the LAST message in a thread the NAVIGATION buttons (<Prev., page numbers, Next>)? On a multi-page thread if one is reading it one has to use the RED ^ to get to the top and then navigate.

Just put a NEW message in the Security thread for protection. In it I produced a list of links: ============== www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2369749,00.aspwww.thewindowsclub.com/free-internet-security-suite-windowssoftwarewanted.blogspot.com/2012/07/windows-8-best-antivirus-and-security.html internet-security-suite-review.toptenreviews.com/ ============== That top link in red, when the underlying link itself has a problem. The ',' (first one) broke the link, only the part before the ',' is blue... probably a forum s/w bug, something you have no control over. Needs to be fixed as many sites use links like this. EDIT: Above it seems that the LINK is there in the EDIT/ADD so the RED is only on the text from the break on.

Not bugs, but I have a question and a suggestion...
Question, when one moves the mouse over a topic, a checkbox opens on the left. What is that for or do?
Suggestion, on the thread 'navigation' on the top, when there is only one page do not show it. If you have too, let the Prev. be the back button which would take you to the main topic list?

Irv,
if you check that box and select the Actions drop down, what options do you get ?

That is ALL messed up it seems... First I see NO Options... only SELECT and ACTIONS... Actions are: Which I guess is OK? However, pressing using SELECT is OK I guess too, but that 'box' always shows where the mouse hovers over a thread which is confusing. Don't think the box should show at all on a mouse over?

If the box didn't show up then you wouldn't be able to select just 1 Thread/Topic.
Incidentally, only each individual member can see the threads they have checked for Bookmark/Marked as New/Marked as Read.
The Select function doesn't offer single selection.

OK GS, no problem.
Suggestion, the LEGEND should be on the TOP above the THREAD list. As it is, with few threads it is off the screen. On top one would always know what the different 'folder' icons mean. Either that or use words before the thread, like STICKY or HOT and forget about the legend altogether.

Have also pondered about this but figured would hold off untill more user input was documented about it. So it may happen yet

Has to be able to be done? NEW is placed before a 'new' thread as is the folder icon marked new.

I think the 2 reply buttons are confusing. The top right 'Reply' should probably be called 'Advanced Reply'. Confusing because some might just type into the Quick Reply area and use the Reply button thinking that is how to post vs. the one on the bottom left which is the actual 'reply' button.

An issue with the functionality of the Forum Stats Hide/View option. Doesn't stick in PM/FF/Opera or Avant Ultimate all of which contain either Trident, Gecko, Chrome or Presto or mixed. Avant Lite uses just the Trident engine and does not show at all so IE users may not see it or have the option when hovering.
