My HP Folio has at present Crucial M550 256GB mSATA Internal SSD and I have been offered the same model but 480gb. Although it retails at just under 200 smackeroozies in the UK, it is offered to me as part payment(3 months use only) by a client and migrate his OS to his new 950gb drive. The HP can only use mSata drives (1.8") As I have the kit to do this I have accepted! Have one of these: To migrate my SSD to the new one on the lappy will be a breeze (although a pain to fit on this machine, whole back has to come off) and can't think of an immediate other use. My question is this, has anyone used an msata drive in a USB hub on a USB enabled TV? I am assuming the SSD will just be seen as a big flash drive. Although I can access my NAS drive wirelessly I want to access a large USB folder, at the moment it is fed by a 64gb flash drive which is running out of space. I want to create specific music, pic and movie folders separate from the shared NAS. In this way I can just have a personal playlist etc. Basically, has anyone done it and was it successful if so?

FYI I had a spare usb 3 sata caddy and copied over 120gb of mixed audio, pics and short movies. TV USB picked it up as a 'Generic USB device' attached, so it works. All files and folder show in the menu and play on demand. Not quite some older TV USB attachments would work over 32gb. My old Toshiba had 32gb limit on the USB port, but was not a 'smart' TV. Had it not worked, I would have lost nothing!! Just to note, the caddy was a USB 3.0 unit This one>>>>>Please post your own experiences here.
