Just to pick up this one again, since activating Edge on the PC as mentioned in the other topic, Office Outlook will no longer download remote pictures, just get the little red cross in a box. I've checked in the trust Center and the box for not downloading pictures is not ticked, and I also downloaded a MS Office fix which installed a new temp file I think. But nothing worked. Changed back to IE but no difference.
So I thought I would investigate Thunderbird again. Downloaded the latest version fine, but it came up with the old account from 2015. Sorted that, works fine of course. Looked into importing stuff from Outlook and now they tell you to download an older version of Thunderbird, import everything you need then update to the latest version again. Well the address book worked OK, all as it should be, and I then set it going on importing mail. Be aware that I was running Outlook in POP3 mode, so all the mail was on the PC.
4 hours later and it's still running, not quite halfway yet though. Hope it makes sense when it's finished.

I cancelled the import after 6 hours, not even got halfway. Went back to Outlook and deleted loads of old stuff, then tried again. Worked fairly quickly this time. Then I discovered it had in fact imported half the stuff the first time. Anyway now all working as it should. Still no idea why Outlook is not downloading pictures.

Sorry to be late replying, been in France for a few days. I have junked outlook now and moved to Thunderbird, which works very well. I would have done it before but at that time I couldn't get thunderbird to import stuff from Outlook, but now it can. I also now use Firefox. So goodbye Microsoft.
