Thanks Joe for this little nugget!! Google has just announced it is making its Earth Pro services free. Since their launch back in 2004, the services had lots of users that did not find the free version satisfying to their needs. GOOGLE EARTH PRO NOW FREE>>>>>Install size 860 kb Registration for key is required. Key was emailed immediately Installed without issues, first launch: better and quicker rendering than the free version, street view is excellent.

btw, did you know? France has it's very own system of mapping. It's called Geoportail and covers only France. It does however, have a higher definition image than GE. www.geoportail.gouv.fr/accueilIt was launched in 2006, and has both a 2D, and 3D version. Free

Did anyone actually use GEarth except when it first got released as a trial? And if so, what did you use it for?

I don't use GE too often mostly the reasons that LH said he used it for. Also have used it to see an area I have to travel to and get somewhat familiar with what the surroundings are like. As far as the updates, When looking at my own residence, it seems by what is on my porch was from fall of 2014.
