I thought that was James Hargreaves, it was believed for some years it was named Jenny after his wife or one of his daughters. None were called Jenny. It transpires 'jenny' was an abbreviation of 'engine' a Yorkshire term. This 'engine' brought about the Industrial Revolution because 'hands' could be replaced by a very early form of robotics (and still we get it) { "Spinning jenny" by Markus Schweiß. } Model of spinning jenny in the Museum of Early Industrialisation, Wuppertal, Germany
