TALKTALK and TISCALI USERS.
The TalkTalk website suffered a major cyber attack yesterday.
It is possible that customer details have been skimmed, likely some or all of the following.
Customer name
Address
Telephone number
Email address
Account number
Bank / Credit card details
TalkTalk say they are contacting customers by email and / or post
If you receive a call purporting to come from them put the phone DOWN and call the number below if you need to:
The official TalkTalk Telephone number is: 0870 444 1820 (expect delays!!)
All attempts to access any TalkTalk sites including webmail were inaccessible this morning.
UPDATE, THE WEBMAIL PAGE IS UP AND RUNNING:
For those with TalkTalk and Tiscali email account you should change your password as soon as access is possible. If your account login is different change that also. Make the
password as strong as possible.
If you are using a client then the passwords will need to be updated there also.
When accessing your mail, do not open any mails if the sender address looks suspicious and in any case do not open ANY attachments.
UPDATE: It appears that the proverbial is already hitting the FAN>>>>>
