Hi Gals and guys :)
Just in time for LH's birthday I see!
My mum had hers yesterday and the day before her Windows Mail quit on her ...
Apparently there was a problem with Windows 7, it repaired itself after a reboot and now Windows Mail only runs in the background.
So using Teamviewer, an image of Macrium and a comparing program I checked to see if there were any changes since I last made an image for her (after running some scans to check if she had a virus or something, but all came up clean).
Apart from browsing a bit, chatting with your truly and writing a mail or worddoc she doesn't really do much with the pc, so the changes compared to the image were minor (some updates for windows and MSE).
Windows Mail had a different size exe though, so I restored the one from the image (replaced the whole folder with the one from the image).
But all to no avail.
I can't simply restore the complete image, because that's not something I can do from teamviewer and my mum doesn't dare do it herself.
I googled a bit but couldn't find anything usefull concerning Windows 7 (64 bit) running Windows Mail and this particular error.
Well, apart from people arguing loudly 'why use Windows Mail in the first place'. Well we do and up till three days ago it worked perfectly.
So I hoped someone here has some bright ideas. Otherwise I'll have to drive over to her place tomorrow and restore the image (which means I'm gone all afternoon for about 15 minutes work - don't mind going over there, but would rather do it for fun and when I have the time LOL).
There is no error notification or anything - when you start Windows Mail it does start, because you can see it in the task manager.
But it doesn't come to the front, so it's pretty useless :(
