A new update went out, and those that applied it found out it wouldn't install. Reports MSVCR80.DLL is missing. Once this happens, you can't even run the old copy of iTunes. Many many threads on this over on iTunes Discussion boards. A sample is discussions.apple.com/thread/5819636?start=0&tstart=0 and in that thread is the 'solution'. Since I have two computers here, and one got hit, I went to the other one and iTunes worked. Running W8.1 as well, so I'll just copy the file over as I expected it to be in WINDOWS\SYSTEM32. Was NOT there in the other computer? It was in a lot of folders, some versions were for our printers from HP, others in many WINDOWS\WINSXS sub-folders though? Hmm... File is part of the C++ Redistribute, so I'll assume it is for different versions. On my computer that has the problem, I have 24 copies of the DLL in sub-folders. I wouldn't even know which one to use. If you are prompted, I'd wait for Apple to fix this.... NIRSOFT does have a program to show what DLL's are registered and it doesn't show as registered on my computer or my wife's (that has iTunes working)? BEWARE and forewarned until this is fixed by Apple.
