Check this link out. Part 1, just lays out the groundwork to 'measure' a variety of 'clean-up' and 'better performance' programs for the PC. Should be interesting. Boot measurement stuff though can fool some people. Removing some items from the registry can speed the boot process. Probably insignificantly but the could be an improvement. Mostly due to history and MRU lists removed and other temporary items as well. Once they get repopulated however that gain is again lost. Looking forward the the follow on articles. I've never seen PROOF before that any programs really works and improves system performance. Most that claim a program does is posted by the vendor/developer. Even then rarely see numbers as proof.

'PROOF' I've never seen in any of 3rd party cleanup programs.
I prefer to back up systems on a regular basis and this works for me when I get A problem (not often) but it does happen
So, I will stick with my preferred backup, no 3rd party involvement other than every day scans with Mbam and SAS
