@ warlock - there was a time I wouldn't have let anybody notice money is a commodity that is hard to come by, but these days ... Thanks for your support :)
@ Lighthouse - already ordered my mum one of those thingies you posted (amazon.de) and ordered myself two for sockets. Will go wireless with the PC (it's already supported, but saw no need, since the cable is there anyway LOL), because putting something in between in the closet it is in will be murder. There is no room to move and no socket close enough to the networkcable (or whatever it should be called when it comes out of the wall :D).

It doesn't need to be next to the ADSL wall input, next to the router/modem is fine.

Have been following this thread, what a wonderful load of information, that we can refer anyone else finding them self in a similar situation.

Hi Kate,
Took untill today before she had internet again. She got a modem pretty fast, but the no new codes to login with, so it was pretty useless :'( A neighbor let her call the telecom company this morning and after several hours of making calls she finally got the codes and now everything is up and running again ! :D
And yes, she is really pleased to have her computer back.
