Yep for sure: I placed a link in the header as well. 'SUGGESTION BOX': Puts it all in one place.

Everyday I check our Members, do wish we could find a way of encouraging more to join. Just a thought, and of course it may not be possible. Wonder if the daily questions were on the left and the sections they are in on the right. ? Headings.. LAST POST........................................BOARD Snowflakes and Firefox? ................. General by irvsp 12 CyberScams of Christmas ............... Security by Admin Just thinking if those looking in would find the questions more interesting than board headings, and then stay a bit longer and sign up. Apparantley!!!! when talking with a friend who runs shop, when he went on one of those' retail therapy' courses. That when people first go into a shop/store they look to their left.(Try it out when you next go in store) I bet you will see products, that the store wants to push on the left.. So maybe our eyes/brain are programmed to look left.. Kate

Kate, nothing wrong with your suggestion, but I think I'm trainable as I've learned to look on the right at the date for the individual forums. The real problem arises when there are multiple new messages in a particular forum, you can only see the last one made. When I ran a website I used cookies to help me. I kept in your cookie the date and time you last were in. With that info I was able to alert you to the new messages since your last visit. Kept a list of forum, subject, date, and time of every append. Then showed you entries when you next entered that were new. For low volume, a dialog box was OK, but I got complaints if the list were long. So I moved it to your account and had a new tab for messages since last visit. Was able to make that a link list and that solved that problem. I guess the same could be done here, either a different tab at top or one under messages?

With the so called demise of the XP OS, Would be nice for those that have never attempted it, a tutorial with step by step directions to run a VM. If there is one here I couldn't find it. WHS posted something of that nature but, links don't want to open. So, don't know if what he posted is what I'm suggesting or not.

Joe those links aren't links they're files, highlight them and select download

Thought I tried that, could be wrong. I'll try again tomorrow late here and work in the morning. In any event, if it's like you are saying, with the XP done date fast approaching the files should be easier to access. In a more prominent spot.

I seem to be having a specific problem on this board/site. I enter whatever I choose and then to check it I press 'Preview'. Nothing happens. For instance I tried it here : It isn't my computer or browser. Tried both FF and IE. I have gone to another forum that has Preview capability and it works there?

Irv, took me a few minutes to see what you meant. What you said seems to be true if using the reply instead of Post Quick Reply. I always use the Post Quick Reply, so never used the preview. That feature may need to be turned on, or a plugin added. Mike may be able to solve, when he sees your post.

When you want to preview a post first select the BBCode Tab to see the code view, then select the Preview Tab you should then see the changes made. ( I admit it's not perfect but it's been this way since the start of the forum, I think it's just the way Proboards is designed).

BBCode shows me basically the HTML (the 'add image to post' is already HTML) for the entire post. Pressed Preview now... OK, looks like that works... not intuitive at all. I was using the 'quote' tab/button to create a post.
