A reply from Michael Stone PB Admin; Yeah, it means they have NO 'unsubscribe' function. 'Smart' which is 'coming soon' does the aggregating of posts into one e-mail. OK, BOOKMARK is 'nice' if one wants to see some specific threads and NOT possible 'active' in it, hence no e-mails. Really a duplicated function if you are active in that thread. It also shows on the menu bar the number you've bookmarks it seems as well. Well, turning back on PARTICIPATED I guess? Wish there was a way to stop e-mails due to specific subjects though.

Mike, I'm looking to see if Proboards have a plug in. For everyday live we use IM, this available in gmail but their are others. At present I'm using Trillion, the free version, after gtalk was discontinued (that was a shame because it worked without issues) Also looking at the problems you are experiencing.
I'd be happy to Teamview with you. Could you repost your issues as a new topic giving details as machine, the OS.
In the meantime, have a look at what is actually running in the background via task manager. It might be that loads of stuff is running in the background, especially as you mentioned a reinstall of the OS presumably OEM OS which auto starts loads of rubbish software and thus takes the CPU to earthquake conditions.
In system have a look at your cpu and ram results, that might point to a problem that can be resolved pretty quickly. Ensure that all your available ram is working, could be a stick is down. If the CPU is showing above 50 / 60 % after 2 or 3mins of boot then there are problems to be looked at
Now I hope this helps

I respectfully submit that we ought to reorganize the site and have FEWER TOPICS. Since Windows is windows no matter what the version or edition, then just have one topic - MS Windows
Just an example, what do you other members think ?

Rick, I'll team up with LH and Neil and see how we could do this. Have been meaning to have a 'trim down' for some time but have been ill and still recovering.
By all means, please add your suggestions!
